Most people who are well traveled still have not been to all seven continents, and thus, one has to ask how can someone be “well-traveled” if they have not been to the four corners of the Earth? Not that this planet is flat or shaped like a box, but think about it.

Consider if you will that the life experience consists of the joy and laughter, along with the pain and sorrow. So, if you are missing any one of those, then you are not living your life to the fullest, the largest range of potential.

Traveling is a lot like that really. You see, and whereas some folks may say it is not necessary to travel to the frigid most Southern Continent because all you are going to do is freeze your butt off. Of course, those who say that have never visited, and those that live there say in that case, they have not lived.

It’s all a matter of perspective isn’t it, and until you’ve walked in those shoes, then you most likely do not know what you are talking about, and the moral of that story is do not judge a place, or its inhabitants until you’ve been there and lived with them and learned what it’s like to live there.

Now my question to you is quite simple really; when are you planning your 7-continent travel excursion; and I hope you are not considering cutting it short and missing out on all the planet and people have to offer. Please consider this.

Do you seek adventure and want to travel the country? Most of us do and if you live in the United States boy is there a lot to see and do. It’s amazing. For some 7-years I’ve traveled this great nation, going to some of the premier destination points, but also going to some of the most rugged terrain and scenic places on this continent. Sure, it is expensive to do that, but did you know you can pay for all your traveling by writing about Adventure Travel?

You can bring your real life experiences to others and enjoy creative expression which is matched by the scenic inspiration. All you need is a solid motor coach and write from there during your travels. Now when I am on the road in my motor coach, I have set up several areas to work from.

During the day I enjoy the adventures of hiking, mountain climbing, skiing or whatever else is available. Then during the night, I write! It’s easy and you can do this too. I bought a special steering wheel holder that works as a Laptop base so I can sit in the captains chair, listen to XM Radio and work with my drink holder and Auto Desk next to me, it’s very comfortable and with the big window. It’s great when there is a good view or if I dim the lights and the stars are out its quite relaxing.

My motor coach like most motor homes has a dining table that also doubles as a nice work area, with a TV close by. Working out of a Motor Coach is actually extremely efficient because everything is so close together compared to a full-size house. Plus, you can park wherever you see a scenic view and you have instant inspiration. Perhaps, this is why so many people who travel by motor homes are freelance writers.

Why not experience Adventure Travel and then let someone else pay for it. A good writer can easily get $.25 per word from travel magazines, especially once they get good with a digital camera and let me tell you that $.25 per word ads up and easily pays for the high fuel costs these days, so, go experience adventure travel, enjoy life and bring your experiences to those that can only dream of it.

For many years, Americans and Canadians have taken pride and comfort in having the world’s largest non-military border. As a Canadian, it is not uncommon to find license plates representing a variety of American states here in Canada. I am sure Americans are used to seeing license plates from various Canadian provinces as well. Unfortunately, this trend is changing and I, like many others, am not fully surprised. Travel between the USA and Canada has fallen noticeably since a requirement to use passports to cross the US-Canadian border was implemented in June 2009. According to Statistics Canada, travel to Canada from the United States fell to its lowest level since tracking began in 1972. Also, per Statistics Canada, the number the number of US tourists has dropped to about half of what it was 5 years ago.

While I have passport, most of my friends living in the USA do not. In the past, my friends from the USA would come here for a visit during the summer. Unfortunately, our annual summer visit did not take place because my friends had not obtained their passports yet.

I am involved in the M-L-M home business industry. In fact, my primary business opportunity deals with travel. In talking with perspective clients, I have noted that people from other parts of the world have long accepted the requirement to travel with a passport.

I am no longer complaining about the issue of passport rules, but after growing up never having to deal with such an issue, it is a sad indication of how much times have changed. I will admit that when the passport rules were first announced, I was not pleased. Yes, in time people from both countries will adjust. I remember when Canada phased out the paper versions of $1.00 and $2.00 dollar bills and replaced them only with $1.00 and $2.00 coins, which are often called Loonies and Toonies. Some people worried about how Canadians would react to having to use coins instead of paper money. To most, it was not a big deal at all. In fact, I don’t even give it a thought anymore. I am hoping this will someday be the case when it comes to travel between the US and Canada again. I do hope people will move past this issue and get their passports. The economies of both countries benefit greatly from tourism. While traveling by car as a child, I used to play a game which focused on spotting a variety of different license plates both from the US and Canada. My children are now playing the game when traveling with me. I hope my children, along with other children from Canada and from the USA will notice a variety of license plates. This will be one good indication that citizens of both countries have moved ahead and have worked to keep our “open border” in effect as much as possible.
